The Sustainable United Nations (SUN) facility of the UN Environment Programme coordinates the Greening the Blue initiative in close collaboration with the Greening the Blue Community, which includes more than 230 members from nearly 60 entities.
SUN provides technical assistance, capacity- building, knowledge- sharing, and reporting on environmental sustainability.
SUN supports UN entities to:
Measure their environmental performance
Reduce their environmental impacts
Offset residual greenhouse gas emissions
Communicate on their environmental performance

Advisory Group Meetings for EMS, Scope 3, and UN Environmental Inventory coordination and improvement
EMS Trainings were organized. Participants: 54 members from 34 entities
Travel Task Team is focused on developing recommendations on policies and measures in the UN system.
3 regional groups of Internal Auditors were created to enhance good practice exchange.
New Data Platform is in development to enhance data collection, reporting and transparency.
To support the Greening the Blue community, SUN Provides Technical Support bilaterally for UN entities.
